This Refund Policy explains how refunds are handled for software products and services developed and provided by AuthorsWorkspace and Anthony Irwin (“ our ”, “ us ” or “ we ”), including downloadable applications, desktop software, mobile applications, cloud-based applications, web applications, subscriptions, and related digital services (collectively, the “Products”).

1. General Refund Policy

we aim to provide reliable, useful software and a positive experience for all customers. Most of my Products offer a free trial, and you are encouraged to use the trial where available to ensure that the software meets your needs before making a purchase.

If you have a concern about a purchase or believe that you are entitled to a refund, please contact us first whenever possible. we want to understand the problem and, where appropriate, help resolve it directly.

Because digital Products can be delivered, downloaded, activated, or accessed immediately after purchase, a change of mind or decision not to use a Product will not ordinarily qualify for a discretionary refund under this policy. However, this does not override any refund rights or other remedies available under applicable law or the refund procedures applicable to purchases processed through Stripe Managed Payments.

Refund requests will be considered in light of the circumstances of the purchase, the nature of the Product, any technical or billing issues, applicable refund commitments, and applicable consumer protection laws.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified under applicable law.

2. Stripe Managed Payments and Merchant of Record

Purchases of Products through Stripe Managed Payments are processed using Stripe’s Merchant of Record service. For transactions processed through this service, Stripe acts as the Merchant of Record and handles applicable payment and transaction-related processes, including the calculation, collection, and remittance of applicable indirect taxes, such as sales tax, goods and services tax (GST), and value-added tax (VAT), in jurisdictions covered by the service.

Stripe Managed Payments also provides transaction-related services, which may include payment processing, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and assistance with payment and order enquiries.

AuthorsWorkspace and Anthony Irwin remains the developer and provider of the Products. we are responsible for developing, maintaining, supplying, and providing product-related support for the software, subject to the applicable Product terms.

This means that:

Stripe Managed Payments may apply its own refund procedures and may issue refunds in accordance with its applicable terms, including where those procedures differ from the discretionary refund approach described in this policy.

3. Downloadable Software and Applications

For Products supplied as downloadable software, including desktop and mobile applications, discretionary refunds are not generally provided solely because:

You are encouraged to review the Product description, supported platforms, system requirements, and available trial options before purchasing.

If the software has a material defect, does not conform to its advertised description, or cannot reasonably be used as represented, please contact us so that we can investigate the issue and determine an appropriate resolution.

Depending on the circumstances, a resolution may include technical assistance, a correction, an update, a replacement, a refund, or another remedy.

Where required by applicable law, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund, or another remedy regardless of whether the software has already been downloaded, installed, or activated.

4. Cloud-Based and Web Applications

For Products supplied as cloud-based services or web applications, subscription payments generally provide access to the relevant Product for the applicable billing period.

Discretionary refunds are not generally provided for:

If a material technical issue prevents you from accessing or using a cloud-based Product as advertised, please contact us to report the problem.

we will investigate reported issues and, where reasonably possible, work to restore access or correct the problem. If the issue cannot be resolved, we will consider an appropriate remedy in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

Where required by applicable law, a refund, partial refund, subscription cancellation, or another remedy may be available if the service fails to meet applicable legal requirements.

5. Subscriptions, Renewals, and Cancellations

Products offered on a subscription basis may be billed monthly, annually, or at another interval specified at the time of purchase.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled before the next renewal, in accordance with the subscription terms presented at checkout.

You are responsible for cancelling your subscription if you no longer wish to continue using the Product. Cancelling a subscription generally prevents future renewals but does not automatically entitle you to a refund for a payment already made.

Unless a refund is approved or required by applicable law or the applicable Stripe Managed Payments refund procedures, cancelling a subscription does not ordinarily entitle you to a refund for the unused portion of the current billing period.

Access will generally remain available until the end of the period already paid for, unless the applicable Product terms, the circumstances of the cancellation, or applicable law require otherwise.

If you signed up for a free trial, check the trial terms and cancellation deadline displayed when you registered. If the trial converts to a paid subscription, you may be charged unless you cancel before the trial ends.

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly or that a renewal payment should be refunded, please contact us first so that we can review the circumstances and help you with the next steps.

6. Free Trials and Promotional Offers

Where a free trial is available, it is intended to allow you to evaluate the Product before committing to a paid subscription.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a free trial does not create an entitlement to a discretionary refund for subsequent subscription payments.

Discounts, promotional prices, coupons, introductory offers, and other special offers are subject to the terms presented when the offer is made.

If a promotional offer includes specific refund or cancellation conditions, those conditions will apply to the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to any applicable Stripe Managed Payments refund procedures.

7. Technical Problems and Product Defects

If you experience a technical problem with a Product, please contact us before assuming that a refund is necessary.

Where appropriate, we may request information needed to investigate the issue, such as:

Please do not provide passwords, payment card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information when reporting a problem.

we will make reasonable efforts to investigate reported issues and identify a suitable solution.

Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate solution may include technical assistance, a correction, an update, a replacement, a partial refund, a full refund, or another remedy required by applicable law.

Nothing in this section requires you to accept a repair or replacement where applicable law entitles you to another remedy.

8. Duplicate, Incorrect, or Unauthorised Payments

If you believe you have been charged more than once for the same purchase, charged the wrong amount, or charged for a transaction you did not authorise, please contact us first where practical so that we can help identify the purchase and investigate the circumstances.

If the issue concerns an unauthorised payment or potential payment fraud, you should also notify Stripe and, where appropriate, your bank or payment provider promptly.

Stripe Managed Payments may provide transaction support through Stripe’s Link support channels and the order-management options available in your purchase confirmation or account.

You do not need to contact us first if doing so would cause unreasonable delay in reporting suspected fraud or protecting your payment account.

9. How to Request a Refund

Please contact us first whenever possible before submitting a refund request directly to Stripe.

we would appreciate the opportunity to understand your concerns, investigate any product or billing issues, and determine whether a suitable resolution is available.

You can contact us through the support channels published on the relevant Product website.

When submitting a request, please provide enough information to identify the transaction, such as:

Please do not include full payment card numbers or security codes.

After reviewing your request, we will explain any available resolution and, where appropriate, arrange or initiate a refund through the applicable payment process.

If you cannot resolve the issue with us , need assistance with the payment transaction, or prefer to use the payment provider’s support process, you can contact Stripe through the support links provided in your purchase confirmation or receipt, or through the Stripe Link support service:

https://support.link.com/

Stripe may independently review refund requests and may issue refunds under its applicable Managed Payments terms and procedures.

Submitting a refund request does not guarantee that a discretionary refund will be approved. This does not affect any refund or other remedy to which you are entitled under applicable law.

10. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved or issued for a purchase processed through Stripe Managed Payments, it will be handled through the applicable Stripe refund process.

Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method where possible, subject to the payment provider’s procedures and applicable law.

The time required for a refund to appear in your account may depend on the payment method, financial institution, and payment provider.

we cannot guarantee the precise date on which your bank or payment provider will make a refunded amount available.

The refunded amount will be handled in accordance with the applicable transaction and tax requirements. Depending on the circumstances and jurisdiction, the treatment of taxes associated with a refunded transaction may differ from the amount paid to the software provider.

If you have questions about the status of a refund or how it will appear on your payment statement, please contact us first where practical, or use the payment support options provided by Stripe.

11. Effect of a Refund

If a full refund is issued, the corresponding right to access or use the refunded Product may be withdrawn or terminated, as applicable.

For downloadable software, this may require you to stop using the software and uninstall it where your applicable licence terms require this.

For cloud-based Products, access to the relevant subscription or service may be discontinued.

Any applicable licence terms, subscription conditions, and legal obligations continue to apply to the extent relevant after a refund.

A partial refund may result in a corresponding adjustment to the Product, subscription, or services provided, where appropriate.

12. Consumer Protection Rights

This policy operates alongside your rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund, cancellation, compensation, or another remedy if a Product or service fails to meet applicable consumer guarantees or other legal requirements.

These rights cannot be excluded or restricted by this policy.

The fact that a purchase is processed through Stripe Managed Payments, or that Stripe acts as Merchant of Record for the transaction, does not remove any non-excludable rights or remedies that you may have under applicable law.

If a provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory right or remedy under applicable law, the relevant law will prevail to the extent of the conflict.

13. Changes to This Policy

we may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Products, business practices, payment arrangements, or applicable legal requirements.

The version published on the relevant Product website at the time of your purchase will generally apply to that purchase, subject to any subsequently applicable legal requirements or agreed changes.

Any update will take effect from the date indicated in the revised policy unless otherwise required by law.
